Scholarship America

Dollars for Scholars of Whitman and Hanson is affiliated with Scholarship America, the nation's largest non-profit, private-sector scholarship and educational support organization.

Scholarship America manages scholarship programs offered by many companies and organizations nationwide. Some of the scholarship programs are open only to employees or their families; other programs are open to everyone.

The Student Resource Center provides links to several online resources.

Learn about an agreement between Scholarship America and its Collegiate Partners, a group of more than 470 postsecondary institutions.


Buick Achievers Scholarship Program

These scholarships, funded by the GM Foundation, are designed to help students who are both leaders in their classrooms and their communities but may not have the means to attend college.

From the guidelines:
It starts with good grades. But goes beyond.
A dedicated student. A leader in school. A volunteer worker. A college-bound and community-minded individual.

This Program will award up to $25,000 per year for 100 students and $2,000 one-time awards for 1,000 students

The application deadline is February 29, 2012.
